INTRODUCING CANDICE JACKSON, SENIOR MANAGING CONSULTANT
Candice Jackson studied at the University of Johannesburg and graduated with an honours in BCom Informatics. After graduating, she began her working career at KPMG, where she stayed for 4 years. In 2016, Candice joined the Mobius Consulting Team as a young Senior Consultant. A testament to her natural leadership abilities, Candice was promoted to a Managing Consultant role within two years at Mobius Consulting.
“It was where I was meant to go, a place where I could learn and a place where I could make a difference for the clients we provide services to,” says Candice.

Candice’s knowledge and experience in the areas of Third Party Risk Management and Governance, as well as her industry expertise, paved the way for her to lead innovations in the area of Information Privacy.
She embodies Mobius Consulting’s practical, value-driven approach to ensuring the security of organisations’ information. She has led efforts to efficiently minimise the burden on organisations when it comes to compliance.
“I have always had a passion for Privacy. It is an interesting service line where practicalities are just as essential as methodology. We are able to take these methodologies and adapt them to any organisation; this is what has made us so successful in this field,” says Candice.
TELL US MORE ABOUT THE INFORMATION PRIVACY SERVICE LINE
As more organisations start to realise how important Information Privacy is for the sustainability and the overall health of the company, Candice Jackson and Reolien Howell, Principal Consultant for Mobius Consulting, joined forces to develop the remediation approach to tackle these new found Privacy challenges that organisations are faced with.
“Our goal is to take Information Privacy to the next level and for Mobius Consulting to be seen at the forefront as people move along their compliance journey,” says Candice.
As the world enters 2021, the Mobius 2025 Vision is underway. This strategy unifies the Mobius Consulting offerings into three categories: consulting, managed services and digital assurance, and now that South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and its European counterpart, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is more significant than ever, Mobius Consulting is positioned to assist organisations with long standing support in order to:
- Help clients where they don’t have capacity
- Help with information management
- Help with Information Privacy training and awareness, as there is a massive need for training because many organisations don’t have the skills to provide audience specific learning tailored to the needs of each department, including: executives, management and operations
WHAT CAN COMPANIES DO TO IMPROVE THEIR INFORMATION PRIVACY
According to Candice, as the Managing Consultant for the Information Privacy Service Line, there are practical measures that companies can take to improve their Information Privacy.
“Companies must consider what they need to do to continue doing business while still taking Information Privacy into consideration. It is important to evaluate what is already in place from a Privacy perspective, instead of starting from scratch, says Candice. “Companies need to take a step back and see the full picture to understand how different departments work together to achieve Information Privacy. This involves taking inventory of what you have, what needs to change, what needs to be added and how it can be implemented because each inventory is unique to each company.”

In 2020, Candice and the Mobius Consulting Privacy experts presented a webinar where they tackled the 3 P’s of Privacy (“Privacy Project Pitfalls”). They were joined by guest corporate panellists, who are subject matter experts in their organisations and industries.
